New to Competitive Soccer? Competitive, or travel, soccer is a higher level of competition as compared to recreation leagues. You play teams from other communities (i.e.; Toledo, Sylvania, Perrysburg, Findlay). Most teams practice twice a week, compete in 1 to 2 games per week/weekend and attend 1 to 2 tournaments a season. Fees are $400, $550 and $700 per year based on age group with the additional fees for indoor soccer. Uniforms are a separate fee. Financial Aid scholarships are available. By playing higher-level teams, your skill will increase because of greater challenges. Coaches are licensed and have attended training to help you learn more and improve your level of play. The only way to find out is to try out. You may find that you are bored with recreational soccer and want to play on a travel team with more skill and competition.
